This blog will show you how to install the Home Assistant OS on UCTRONICS RPI Rack Pro(SKU: RM0004).

 

1. Install Home Assistant Operating System

1) SUGGESTED HARDWARE

Raspberry Pi 4B/3B+; Power supply for Raspberry Pi; Micro SD card; SD Card reader; Ethernet cable

2) WRITE THE IMAGE TO YOUR BOOT MEDIA

Please refer to the official guide to write the image.

 

3) ENABLE I2C WITH AN SD CARD READER

Please refer to the official guide to enable I2C.

 

4) START UP YOUR RASPBERRY PI

 

2. Configure Your Home Assistant OS on the RPI Rack Pro

Step 1: Here you will create the owner account.

 

Step 2: Click on “Settings” in the sidebar on the left. And then click on “Add-ons”.

 

Step 3: Head over to the add-on store.

 

Step 4: After entering the Add-on Store, click on “Repositories” in the top right Menu.

 

Step 5: Add the GitHub link: UCTRONICS_RM0004_HA

 

Step 6: Just close the pop-up window.

 

Step 7: Click on “Check for update”, and then refresh the page.

 

Step 8: You will see the “Home Assistant add-on repository”, and click it.

 

Step 9: Then install the “UCTronics Display”

 

Step 10: Turn off the Protection mode. And click on “START”.

 

When you’re done, your device is ready for you to control. :)
